Dr McGrath graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1997 where she obtained her medical degree. She obtained her Diploma in Child Health post grad from the College of Paediatricians of South Africa and then proceeded to work in General Practice and also assisting in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and General Surgery while in South Africa before immigrating to Australia in 2003. She started working in General Practice in Wollongong in 2005, completed her Australian Medical Certificate in 2007 and obatained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2013. She has done additional training in skin cancer detection and surgical management and more recently further training in the Aesthetic Medicine field and is a current member of ACAM.

She is passionate about improving patients access for adequate skin cancer detection and management and also assisting with general skin condition diagnoses and treatment from the normal ageing skin to specific skin conditions.
