What to expect
Before any injectable appointment, patients must present to one of the doctors at Advantage Skin Clinic to obtain a script. An injectable script is valid for up to 6 months. During your initial consultation with our experienced cosmetic nurse, a personalised treatment plan will be created to meet your individual needs. The treatment involves injecting a solution containing deoxycholic acid into the targeted area, which causes the fat cells to break down and be eliminated by the body’s natural processes.
Duration
The procedure takes approximately 10-20 minutes. For optimal results, we recommend a series of 2-3 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart. It may take 6-12 weeks to see the full effects of the treatment.
Downtime
Some mild swelling, bruising, and redness may occur at the injection site as well as a firm feeling in the injection site for up to 4 weeks.

What is the pre and post-treatment care?
Immediately after the treatment you may experience swelling, bruising, itching, pain, sensitivity to pressure and warmth at the injection site. This is normal and generally disappears within 1-2 weeks. Avoid scratching/picking around the treated area and keep the area dry for at least 4 hours. You can continue your usual daily activities after treatment however it is best to avoid strenuous exercise for 2 days post-treatment. For 14 days after treatment avoid extreme temperatures such as saunas and hot baths which can affect the treated areas.
